By some definition, we’re all immigrants.
Moving place to place, on every distant shore.
New citizens be welcomed, but please acquaint yourselves,
to basics you cannot ignore – behind our open door.
Americans hold values, adopt them best you can,
gain skills and study English – spend some time to learn.
But there is one skill, you’ll use every day,
to grocery shop you’ll see a line – there you’ll wait your turn.
