Oh nay! This tale of woe!
Carries yond’r the curs’d beshrew of those depress’d and bearing consequences;
of vile troubles wrought,
brought forth by flighty and shallow thought.
Beginneth this quick yet telling tale within the blithesome days at the untroubled, simple
E&E Lemon Water Cart
_ young Elric doth 2 pence earn f’r a pannikin of ‘honey spiked delight’ at 8 pence sold. All is most well!
Eda _ E&E ladyship mst’r owner, knowing her dateless lab’r at last to reward with ample yield a good and worthwhile fortune, forever to hold
doth clear 3 pence _ each vessel sold.
Ha! Not thwarted she by costly lemons!!
Doth ent’r anon to our tale _ Alfreda at 8 years of age _ by 3 the elder sibling of Elric _ th’ref’re wise of the w’rld, cometh ill
and heaved the gorge at this injustice.
F’r the elder sibling proclaimeth, young Elric be the victim of his circumstance _ F’r is it not he _ the one _ who for most hours high-lone
lab’ring at the Cart?
Foresooth, enchafed with rage, this fusty mistress demands, the mst’t to payeth po’r Elric m’re, ‘r Elric shall nay longer
serve at the mst’r’s pleasure.
Wh’ref’re cometh this vile delation to greet Eda upon h’r eighth water Haul of the day. “Cry you Mercy” doth Eda sadly wallow
_ as she balks out _ bearing weighty tears of sorrow.
“This fust Cart grows old in want! And endless need for lemons to squeeze! Testy bees still await! _ and to seek out lemon’s sweet succor to seize.” So with betho’ghtful pause Eda then dwells upon the many shillings thusf’r saved _
and with little time h’r own to keep _ holds heavy summons for many winks lost of sleep. She with a suddenness to gast the gods Eda cried ‘Begone eh Cart! – Forswear the Dray!
My wizened hands set free this Day! for from fatigue of Hauling water, and swatting outed bees, and seeking lemons worth their price _ I am quite quanked!!’ On the day to foll’w _ closed Dray leaves but one in sorrow. Alfreda basked in the glow of Comrades’ cheers, ‘in ending an injustice and quell all jeers; _ and Eda at last _ with languor past slept _ slept late in bliss; _ and bees could lemons freely pluck _ whilst Elric glumly _ with a final pence _ buys one last lemon _ to sadly suck.
