(Chorus)
Once was a dog, his name was Jiggs.
Big as an elephant, eats like a pig.
Barks real loud when he gets real mad.
Cries like a baby when he gets real sad.
One day Jiggs went for a walk.
Tried to eat a chicken and it started to squawk.
Then Jiggs got stung on his butt by bee.
When he ran away he ran into a tree. (chorus)
One day Jiggs went down to the lake.
He jumped right in – got bit by a snake.
Was bit on the butt – got big and black
so Jiggs went home and never went back. (chorus)
One day Jiggs found a great big bone.
Looked real tasty – tried to take it home.
But poor ol’ Jiggs made a big mistake.
It was part of the leg of a bull named Jake. (chorus)
So Jiggs took off, he ran really fast.
He ran through the fields and he ran through the grass.
He ran like a bunny, fast as can be.
And he ran right back into that same ol’ tree. (chorus)
As time went on, Jiggs got kinda’ old.
Didn’t roam as much, stayed close to home.
On some days Jiggs would just take a nap,
lie down next to me, put his head on my lap.
Once was a dog, his name was Jiggs.
Big as an elephant, eats like a pig.
Barks real loud when he gets real mad.
And when Jiggs passed away, I got real sad.
