D.C. alone, in solitude it stays,
with no vote, gets lost along the way.
But why become a brand new shiny state?
Look to the past, there-in find your fate.
Just split in two – rejoin your former states.
Why such a fuss? No need to contemplate.
The retrocession of eighteen-forty-six
worked just fine; just finish up the fix!
