Half the country on edge, in trepidation and fear,
the other half holds its breath.
The Era of Trump is about to dawn,
all that’s certain is taxes and death.
The greatest unknown, facing us now,
is what happens once Trump is sworn in.
With Trump and a GOP Senate and House,
a wild ride will likely begin.
So when Congress first meets, what’s the first act,
The House decides to do?
Perhaps it’s something, that sets the tone,
to be forthright, transparent and true.
Well no not at all, just didn’t happen,
instead the first step they took.
Was just for themselves, something they wanted,
that’s where they took the first look.
That Office of Ethics is faulty for sure,
its practices not the best.
So they simply announced, this Office of Ethics,
is something they’re putting to rest.
With the country bewildered, surprised and confused,
by their official first act,
they quickly recanted, babbled and chanted,
they’d be leaving their ethics in tact.
We need our leaders, to work on our problems,
trusted leaders, whom we see engrossed.
So why from closed doors, they send the impression,
it’s themselves they care for the most?
